A Quick Look Back 👀
Breast Cancer Awareness Month began in October 1985 as a partnership between the American Cancer Society and a pharmaceutical company. The goal was simple: encourage more women to get mammograms, since at the time many weren’t scheduling them regularly.
Fast-forward a few years, and the pink ribbon became the global symbol we all know today—thanks to efforts by the Estée Lauder Companies in the early 1990s. Since then, October has grown into a month filled with fundraisers, walks, campaigns, and conversations that encourage women (and men!) to prioritize breast health.
Shifting the Conversation 🌿
While the original focus was on mammograms, the bigger message is clear: take care of your breast health. Awareness is not only about disease—it’s about understanding your body, knowing your options, and being proactive before problems arise.
That’s where thermography fits beautifully into the conversation.
How Thermography Supports Breast Health 🌡️
Thermography, also known as thermal imaging, is a radiation-free, non-invasive, and comfortable way to evaluate breast health. Instead of looking for structural changes, thermography looks at heat patterns, circulation, and inflammation, providing a different kind of insight.
Here’s why women choose thermography as part of their wellness toolkit:
✅ Safe at any age (no radiation, no side effects)
✅ No compression (because, let’s be honest, nobody loves being squished)
✅ Tracks changes over time (baseline and follow-up studies highlight whether patterns are stable, improving, or shifting)
✅ Complements other imaging (mammograms look at structure; thermography looks at function—you want both perspectives for peace of mind)
Think of it like this: if mammograms are checking the “bricks and walls,” thermography is looking at the “electric wiring.” Both matter, and together they give a fuller picture.
Angel the Thermography Lady ✨
At Thermal Imaging Services, I’m known by many as “Angel the Thermography Lady.” My mission is to make thermography accessible, approachable, and empowering. By partnering with trusted clinics and traveling across Texas, I bring breast health awareness directly to the communities I serve.
This October, let’s remember: Breast Health Awareness is about more than pink ribbons—it’s about giving women choices. Thermography offers a safe, proactive way to see wellness from the inside out.
